Maniscalco Elementary School, opened in 1989, was named in honor of Mary M. Maniscalco, an educator in Hillsborough County School System for over three decades. The school was built to relieve overcrowding at Lutz and Lake Magdalene elementary schools. Maniscalco Elementary School enrolls students in prekindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as reading, math, writing, physical education, art, music, technical education and science. The school additionally provides opportunities to students to participate in a variety of athletic activities, including baseball, softball, football, track, tennis, soccer and volleyball.
