History

On Saturday, February 13th, 2010, Magnan Martial Arts Founders, Alfred Magnan and Tania Magnan commemorated the opening of their commercial location, with a huge Grand Opening party with free prizes and classes for families in the community. Both Founders are Certified Educators with a combined 41 years of professional experience, 17 of those years in the area of education. Sifu Alfred Magnan is the Chief Instructor at the dojo. Tania Magnan is the Operations Director and Head Yoga Instructor. Both taught group and private classes from multiple locations for many years before establishing their own locale. Training since 1983, today Sifu Alfred is a 1st Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo, a Kru in Muay Thai Kickboxing, a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and has accumulated many hours and trainings in other systems like Progressive Fighting Systems (JKD/Military Training). Tania Magnan is a Certified Registered Yoga Teacher since 2002.

Specialties

We are a Self-Defense Training & Fitness facility offering martial arts training in the systems of American Kenpo, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Bruce Lee's JKD and the Philipino Martial Arts. Our youngest martial arts students begin at the age of 5, and 50% of our classes are geared to adults in the areas of Self-Defense, Kickboxing, Boot Camp and Yoga. We serve local families from Homestead to Coral Gables and Private Students who come from military/law enforcement or professional backgrounds requiring personal protection due to the nature of their work.
