Macneill Group

MacNeill Group was formed as a proprietorship in 1946 and has grown by primarily writing personal property and some commercial lines of business. As the business expanded so did the lines and companies it represented, including private-passenger auto and excess and surplus lines. In 1989, H.G. Holding Corporation, a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson, one of the world s largest insurance brokers, purchased the company. In 1997, MacNeill Group was awarded the designation of certified managing general agent. It is proud to be one of only a select number of such agents throughout the United States, and was also the first in Florida to receive this prestigious award. In June 2000, it was renamed MacNeill Group. Working primarily as managing general agents with underwriting authority for carriers represented, MacNeill Group produces business through more than 2,000 licensed independent property and casualty agencies throughout Florida. Other services offered include program administration services, assistance with new company formations, program/product development and statistical and analytical support services.
