Luis Rodriguez, M.D., F.A.M.S.S.M., is a primary care sports medicine physician with Baptist Health. He specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems, with a special interest in sports related injuries, joint arthritis, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided procedures and orthobiologics. Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine at Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, where he was awarded five Outstanding Performance Awards during clinical rotations. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation– Florida Program, and a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, N.Y. An academic affiliate of SUNY Upstate Medical University. He currently serves as team physician for Inter Miami C.F., the U.S. Ski Team, Miami F.C. and Florida International University and a variety of college. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Primary Care Sports Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Previously, Dr. Swartzon provided medical care for El Clásico Barcelona vs Real Madrid, the World Golf Championship, the University of New Mexico Lobos basketball team, Mountain West conference championship, NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, New Mexico state rodeo and the USA Track and Field Indoor Championship. His specialties include stem cell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and amniotic regenerative orthobiological therapy. He performs orthopedic ultrasound diagnostics and ultrasound-guided procedures.
