Welcome to Christ Church. We are a new and growing congregation. Our statement of purpose says, "We seek to honor God, to draw people to Jesus Christ and to reach out and meet human needs." We began as a new community church in 2005 and met at the Bayfront Park on Longboat Key. Within a year we had outgrown that facility and moved to our present site at Mediterranean Plaza, which we re-modeled and enlarged to suit our worship needs. Shortly thereafter, On February 2006, we voted to affiliate with the Presbyterian Church ( USA ). In 2008 we purchased land and an office building at 6400 Gulf of Mexico Drive, and in 2009 raised funds to build a new Church building, to be erected by the Spring of 2011. We are an active church. We grow together in education, have fun in our fellowship, care for each other in love and are active in mission to our community and world. At the center of our life together is worship, which strengthens us for the week to come.
