Pastor Richard Pfleiderer, a native of Sandusky Ohio, graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA in 1991. He served churches in Bedford and and Shippenville PA, Crestline OH, and Hebron, NE before coming to St. Paul. Pastor Pfleiderer has been elected to serve on the board for intercampus ministry at Florida Tech. We are happy to have Pastor Richard, his wife Karen, and their daughter Traci as part of our church family. We have enjoyed meeting the Pfleiderer's older daughter Michelle and her son Justin and look forward to meeting their son Matthew and the rest of Michelle's family. St. Paul is served by a dedicated group of paid and volunteer staff members. From secretary Janet Jodoin to sextant Noel VanPala, cantor and Choir Director Sally Cohn, to our organist Beth Perry, the congregation is grateful for their tireless efforts and faithful dedication to keep the church running smoothly. They are truly a blessing to our congregation. The church council serving St. Paul is currently a team of 7 members with Barbara Kerschner serving as the President. JoeAnn Brownlie, Nancy Schweitzer, Steve Black, Tony Misco, Barbara Poulan, and Pat Gorski round out the group. Serving the Ministry Leadership Team are Bob Shuemaker, Janet Jodion, Adam Lisenbardt, Judy Wilson, Bev Larm, and Susie Larson. We look forward to their leadership and guidance as we begin the next stage of our mission with Pr. Richard. Lutheran Church began in the 1500's as a reforming movement which sought to restore the centrality of the Bible, faith, and grace within the Roman Catholic Church. Lutherans share a common faith with other Christians, but proclaim God's message by emphasizing justification by faith, living in the freedom of Christian love, and not confusing law and gospel. St. Paul Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the ELCA - The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We affirm and identify with the confessions of Lutheran Church through a traditional worship service. We believe in and practice the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We believe that through the waters of baptism, God comes to us to adopt us as God's children. Through baptism, God gives the gift of new life. We affirm the baptism of infants. We believe that through the Lord's Supper of bread and wine, God comes to love us and to forgive us. It is a meal of renewal. Jesus is present in the meal. The congregation would like to thank John Williams for capturing the life and history of St. Paul on camera. Many of the images on this website are from John's work through the years. Keep that film rolling!
