Founded in 1972, the Little Havana Activities & Nutrition Centers of Dade County Inc. (LHANC) has become a leading provider of services for socially isolated and economically disadvantaged seniors in South Florida. With a mission to deliver quality social, nutrition, and health services, LHANC aims to support low-income elderly individuals in maintaining their independence at home while preventing the need for early institutionalization.
Each year, LHANC serves over 11,000 individuals, having supported a total of 81,000 since its inception. The organization primarily aids vulnerable populations, with 91% of its clients living below the poverty line, 77% aged 75 and older, and a significant majority identifying as Hispanic.
