With more than 850 licensed beds, Lakeland Regional Medical Center is Florida s fourth-largest hospital. The nonprofit facility provides health care services to residents in central Florida, who collectively account for the fourth-highest volume of patient discharges in the state. The hospital s departments specialize in heart care, oncology care, emergency treatment, mental health and addictions, women s and children s health, orthopedics and surgery. Each year its team of cardiovascular surgeons perform more than 9,000 heart-related procedures. Lakeland Regional Medical Center was established in the early 1920s and is located in Lakeland, Fla.
