History

I started my medical practice with a dream that I could take care of patients the way that I wanted to without being dictated to by insurance companies. I've been able to be a Psychiatrist and enjoy treating the medical aspects of patients while also getting to know them psychologically and socially through psychotherapy. As a trainee, I discovered that medication works better with psychotherapy and the relationship one develops through that is a model for the relationships that the patient has in the outside world.

Specialties

This is a boutique Psychiatric practice which specializes in a holistic approach to mental health care. I not only look at and investigate possible medical causes of the mental health issue, but also use medication management and psychotherapy to help get patients back on track. Dr. Lazarou is also a registered dietitian, so diet and exercise are typically incorporated into treatment. As a fellowship trained forensic Psychiatrist Dr. Lazarou also is involved in litigation support in the field of mental health/psychiatry which includes: medical record review, IMEs and expert testimony if necessary.
