With the purchase of a Lincoln Mercury dealership in 1980, John Scanlon began building his family business. John and his son, Jay, have built the Scanlon Auto Group into four new vehicle franchises and a pre-owned vehicle business on more than 25 acres in South Fort Myers, Fla. In addition to Lincoln Mercury, Scanlon Auto Group has Lexus, Acura and Mazda dealerships. The company buys, sells and trades new and used cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles and minivans. Scanlon Auto Group sponsors and contributes to several charities, including the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Children s Hospital of Southwest Florida, The United Way of Lee County, YMCA, Lee County Habitat for Humanity and Lee County s Boys and Girls Club.
