Jean-Marie Stephan, M.D., is a board-certified gynecologic surgical oncologist at Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Stephan specializes in gynecological cancer prevention, gynecological cancer surgery and chemotherapy. He is fluent in English, French, Arabic and conversational Spanish.Prior to joining Baptist Health South Florida in 2022, Dr. Stephan served as a gynecological oncologist and assistant clinical professor at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. At the center, he was also the lead investigator of clinical trials to help patients have access to novel therapies.Dr. Stephan’s research has been published in Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.He is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Medical Association.Dr. Stephan takes a holistic approach to healthcare, believing patients and their families should play major roles in decision-making. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Pretell enjoys going to arcades, cooking classes and entertainment activities with his oldest stepson and his triplets, watching movies with his oldest daughter, traveling and taking beach walks with his wife. He is also an avid World Cup soccer fan.
