Jane Skelton, M.D., is a board-certified medical oncologist at the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, treating patients with early-stage to advanced metastatic breast cancer. Dr. Skelton earned her medical degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She then completed her internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at McGill University. Afterwards, she completed a research fellowship in oncology and infectious disease at the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Skelton serves as an affiliate assistant professor of clinical biomedical science at Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Dr. Skelton’s approach to care starts with carefully listening to her patients to determine what they understand about their diagnosis, what their goals are for treatment and how she can work with them to accomplish those goals. From there, she can educate them about their diagnosis and explain what to expect from treatment. She believes this exchange of communication is vital to helping her patients maintain the best quality of life possible during and after treatment. When not helping patients, Dr. Skelton enjoys her book club, travel and outdoor activities.
