Highlands County Tax Collector

Highlands County Tax Collector maintains its main office in Sebring, Fla. The office assesses and collects taxes imposed within the county. It is responsible for the collection of ad valorem taxes, as well as taxes imposed by special levying districts and by state agencies. The office also participates in the management of the executive branches of state government that include the Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the Department of Revenue. It is operated by the government of Highlands County, Fla., which also operates administrative services, county clerk, engineering, facilities and information technology departments.
