The Parks & Recreation Division of Citrus County, Fla., offers a variety of parks and recreational facilities. Its parks offer a range of amenities that includes barbecue grills, fishing piers, jogging trails, horseshoe pits, boat ramps, pavilions, playgrounds, parking facilities, water fountains and showers. The parks also include baseball, soccer, softball and football fields and basketball, racquetball and shuffleboard courts. The division also maintains a river campground of more than 30 acres, which provides opportunities for camping, boating, picnicking, fishing and canoeing. Additionally, it organizes a range of programs and events that include yoga classes, art camps and hip-hop dances. The division also manages cemeteries and maintains its office in Lecanto, Fla.

The Public Works Department, administered by the county government in Hernando County, Fla., is responsible for maintenance of roadways, drainage remedies, construction inspection and approval and traffic control device maintenance. It also provides various engineering services for construction projects, including design and supervision and traffic control engineering. It oversees the maintenance, repair and construction of sidewalks and roads. It also offers solid waste collection services for residential and commercial facilities. The Public Works Department serves federal, state and county permitting agencies, boards and committees. The department is located in Brooksville, Fla.
