Fsu Anthropology Department

The FSU Department of Anthropology, located in the Carraway Building at the north entrance of the main campus in Tallahassee, Florida, offers courses in Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, and Cultural Anthropology. Led by former FSU President John Thrasher and Professor of Anthropology Dr. Tanya Peres, the department provides a comprehensive academic program, including field schools and research opportunities, for students interested in the study of human cultures and societies.

With a focus on archaeological fieldwork, the department collaborates with the National Park Service and other organizations to conduct excavations and mapping projects.
