Foster Children's Project provides advocacy and legal assistance services for children aged 12 and below. The project has been serving children since 2001. It provides the services of attorneys who represent children in foster care systems. Located in West Palm Beach, Fla., the Foster Children's Project is governed by The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, which is a nonprofit organization that offers free legal services to disadvantaged children, families and senior citizens. Founded in 1949, The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County additionally handles fair housing, domestic violence, juvenile advocacy and elder law projects.

The Mission of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, Inc. is to stimulate economic energy, promote business diversity, and enrich the vitality of Palm Beach County through the relocation, retention, and expansion of companies to or in Palm Beach County. Founded in 1982 by Chambers of Commerce, the Economic Council, and other business leaders, the Business Development Board is designated by the State of Florida and Palm Beach County Commission as Palm Beach County's official economic development organization.Although we are autonomous, we work closely with the Chambers of Commerce, other county organizations, and the County Commission to achieve economic development goals in the areas of business recruitment and expansion, job creation, workforce development, infrastructure, and availability of capital.We work to attract and retain business investment through corporate relocations, expansions, and international trade; and provide marketing support and business networking services through a paid membership organization that partially funds our economic development services. During the past five years, the BDB has assisted companies that have created more than 10,000 direct jobs with average salaries greater than $58,000, resulting in more than $595 million in capital investment to Palm Beach County and an economic impact that exceeds $4.1 billion.Every day, our team of dedicated professionals works to strengthen the economic vitality of our community.We believe we can make a difference in our community by constantly strengthening our existing businesses one at a time, bringing fresh ideas and fresh companies into Palm Beach County to accelerate our knowledge-based economic future with high-wage and high-tech jobs, implementing new initiatives that support the fabric of our success with workforce leaders, educators, chambers, county commissioners, and municipalities as our partners.Our economic development programs and services are partially funded through a contract with the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners. Matching funds are raised from private industry through membership dues and revenues from special events and publications. As one of only two accredited economic development boards in the state of Florida by IEDC, the BDB is recognized as one of the most successful public/private partnerships.
