About Dr. Vivian TorresVivian M. Torres, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon practicing at VENAS Vascular Specialists, located in Sarasota, Florida, where she takes a conservative, holistic, patient-centered approach to care.Dr. Torres completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras Campus in 2002, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to study medicine at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2006. After completing her transitional year residency at Hospital de Damas in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she completed her general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, and her vascular surgery residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center (DMC) in Detroit, Michigan.To ensure that she stays up to date with the latest advances in her field and can offer the most effective treatments to her patients, Dr. Torres maintains professional affiliations with several professional organizations, including the Society for Vascular Surgery, Florida Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, and Association of Women Surgeons.
