The Sarasota Opera is an internationally-respected producer of the highest quality professional opera. It fosters artistic excellence, diversity, and vitality in the Sarasota area by producing opera as a living art form through performances and composition. The Sarasota Opera also offers a stage for American-trained principal artists, produces high-caliber apprentice and studio artist programs as well as owning, maintaining and operating the Opera House as a year-round facility. The building has an elaborate three-story entrance and contains eight shops on the ground floor, 12 offices on the second floor and 12 furnished apartments on the third. All floors face a central atrium. The theater auditorium, stage and fly tower occupy the remainder of the building. A glorious Robert Morton orchestral pipe organ is part of the auditorium.
