Dr. Ivan Mendoza

Roderick Romero, M.D., F.A.C.S. graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School, where he also completed his surgical residency in 2010. He then completed a one-year fellowship in minimally invasive general surgery with Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Gomez. Specializing in bariatric, laparoscopic, endoscopic, and robotic procedures. Dr. Romero joined the Gastric Sleeve Center at Jackson South where he has continued to perform various minimally invasive general surgery procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy for weight loss, as well as advanced colorectal, hernia, biliary, and anti-reflux operations.

Dr. Gomez specializes in laparoscopic general, bariatric, colorectal, gastric sleeve and revisional bariatric surgery. He also specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of hiatal hernia, as well as biliary and antireflux procedures. In addition, he performs endoscopic minimally invasive procedures, including endoscopic revisions of failed gastric bypass and endoscopic treatment of acid reflux and obesity.
