He then completed advanced fellowship training in hand to shoulder surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville. At his fellowship, he trained under Dr. Paul Dell, one of the preeminent minds in hand surgery for the last 35 years. After fellowship, he was recruited to join the prestigious Orthopaedic Care Specialists, starting in 2019.Dr. Abeyewardene is a skilled surgeon who performs both inpatient and outpatient procedures. Most of his elective procedures are performed on an outpatient basis at a surgery center, where patients can go home the same day.
