DFS Special Disability Trust

200 E Gaines St
Tallahassee, FL 32301

The Office of the Special Disability Trust Fund (SDTF) in Florida was established in 1955 to encourage the hiring of individuals with preexisting permanent impairments. Although the fund was abolished for new claims in 1997, claims with accident dates prior to December 31, 1997, remain eligible for reimbursement.

The SDTF processes claims through the ProofofClaim Form (SDF1) for initial claims and the Reimbursement Request Form (SDF2) for reimbursements on established claims. The fund also provides annual actuarial analyses to estimate liabilities as mandated by state law.
