Cruzan Dance Center

History

Cruzan Dance Center was founded by Alex E. Simon in 2006. Prior to his decision in opening up a center where children and adults can learn the art of dance he founded Cruzan Dance Inc in 2003, which later was changed to Cruzan Dance Company in 2008. Simon's idea of pursuing his dream was led to fruition after a local performance at the Reichold Center for the Performing Arts in St. Thomas with the Koresh Dance Company of Philadelphia, where simon resided as a principal dancer under the direction of Ronen Koresh. During a master class taught by simon with over seventy five dancers which was recorded as the biggest master class ever taught from a visiting dance company, his initiative of finally giving back to his community came to reality. Since it's inception CDC has been expanding at a rapid rate developing other projects that also target the need for activities for youths of all ages. to include Miss Urban Teenz International
