Christine Caridad Marrero, DO

Emily Quintero, M.D., is a family medicine physician with Baptist Health Primary Care. She provides comprehensive primary care that includes preventive care, annual physicals, screening tests, chronic disease management and healthy lifestyle counseling. Her professional interests include women’s health, geriatrics, cardiology, mental health and community health. Dr. Quintero earned her medical degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine and graduated with honors in research. She completed a family medicine residency at Baptist Health West Kendall Hospital, Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. She served as chief resident during this program and received a fellow clinical teaching award and the Golden Pineapple Award for her exemplary care to patients. Dr. Quintero has published scholarly articles and presented her work at scientific symposiums. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Fostering long-term relationships with her patients and their families built on trust and open communication allows Dr. Quintero to deliver personalized care that addresses not only physical health but also emotional and social wellness. Dr. Quintero focuses on treating the individual rather than the illness, which involves understanding her patients' unique backgrounds, personal circumstances and health goals. She also strives to promote health literacy and empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare decisions. During her free time, Dr. Quintero enjoys fishing, bike riding, salsa dancing and spending time with her family and dog, Nemo.

Christina Stewart, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board certified nurse practitioner at Baptist Health Primary Care. She cares for patients with chronic and acute health conditions. Prior to joining Baptist Health Primary Care in 2014, Christina worked as a nurse practitioner in many different settings, from the urgent care and telehealth to a provider in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Her wide range of experience helps her provide quality care to her patients. Christina has helped improve the quality of care throughout Baptist Health Medical Group by developing the annual Medical Assistant Skills Optimization Fair, a continuing education fair for medical assistants. Christina also serves as a mentor for other Advanced Practice Providers who are new to Baptist Health Medical Group. Christina’s care philosophy is to learn about the patient as a whole, rather than only considering the disease process or medical condition. She believes taking a holistic approach enables her to provide total care for her patients to achieve the best possible health outcomes. In her free time, Christina spends every moment that she can with her family. She also enjoys all things DIY.

Heberto Valdes, M.D., is a board-certified endocrinologist at Baptist Health South Florida. He treats patients with hormone-related diseases, such as diabetes and thyroid disorders. Dr. Valdes is passionate about endocrinology because it allows him to play a critical role in the lives of his patients. Through lifestyle modifications and innovative therapies, he helps patients prevent potentially life-altering conditions. Dr. Valdes joined Baptist Health South Florida from Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Valdes is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine. He has also participated in several endocrinology clinical trials, led presentations for the Endocrine Society and American College of Physicians. His philosophy to patient care is to always prioritize the needs of the patient first. This philosophy has allowed him to provide compassionate care without compromising treatment excellence. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Valdes enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and stays as active as possible. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
