Covington Rural Services is a subsidiary of Covington Electric Cooperative (CEC) that was formed in 1988 to provide CEC members with access to energy services and electric products. Covington Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric cooperative that is dedicated to providing energy and related services to rural communities in southern Alabama. Covington Rural Services offers Internet services, electric fireplaces, emergency medical response systems, home security and a rural water system. The company s home security systems provide basic burglary protection, lighting control and wireless systems. Covington s medical response services allow individuals with medical needs to function more independently. Additionally, the company s Internet service provides members with access to the Internet. To ensure accessibility, Covington Rural Services offers financing on most products to qualified CEC members.

PowerSouth Energy Cooperative is a $1 billion generation and transmission cooperative that provides wholesale power to 16 distribution cooperatives, four municipalities and one industrial member. Its 21 member-owners serve the electrical needs of more than 800,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers, which include more than 350,000 consumer accounts in 39 Alabama counties and 10 northwestern Florida counties. Pea River Electric Cooperative is a distribution electric utility serving consumers in three southeast Alabama counties: Barbour, Dale and Henry. Based in Ozark, Ala., the cooperative offers a wide selection of electric barbecue grills and smokers. It installs high pressure sodium (HPS) outdoor lighting. Pea River Electric Cooperative is a member of the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. The cooperative has more than 3,000 miles of electric distribution lines in Alabama. Additionally, it performs energy audit for its members.
