Kids In Distress, established in 1979, is a private and nonprofit organization. It provides early intervention and prevention and treatment for adolescent abuse victims and their families in South Florida. The organization also provides services and programs to children and families suffering from abuse and neglect. Kids In Distress provides 24-hours, seven-days a week support services. The organization offers care services to more than 6,000 children every year. It also provides various programs, including emergency shelters, group homes, foster care and adoption support. Kids In Distress also provides therapeutic preschools, behavioral health counseling services, parent education, and services to domestic violence victims.
