Brevard County Property Appraiser

Brevard County Property Appraiser is an independently elected official whose duties are prescribed by the Florida law. The appraiser provides valuations of property at the lowest cost to taxpayers of Brevard County in Florida. The office of the property appraiser is not controlled by the county commission or any other taxing authority that sets tax rates and annual budgets. Its operation is regulated by the Florida Department of Revenue. The property appraiser sends a Truth in Millage notice to all property owners as required by law that tells the taxable value of property and provides information on proposed millage rates and taxes as estimated by each Brevard County taxing authority. It also tells when and where the authorities will hold public meetings to discuss tentative budgets and set final tax millage rates.
