Brevard County Disposal Facility

Brevard County Disposal Facility, also known as Central Disposal Facility is located in Cocoa, Fla. The facility is used for solid waste disposal and to make improvements operationally and environmentally. The facility has an area of more than 950-acres and is responsible for handling the disposal needs of the county s residents. The facility comprises a scale house, wall area, tire transfer site, metal pile, landfill, methane gas system, leachate tank and household hazardous waste collection center. Its collection center provides services for the safe disposal of household hazardous materials. Its metal pile facility separates ferrous metals, such as steel goods from the waste stream, subsequently picked up by a metal recycler and recycled into new products.
