History

Boondocks opened their doors over 25 years ago as a small ice cream shop. The current kitchen was the entire building.Quickly realizing Ramrod Key was in need of more than just ice cream the original owners expanded the menu to include sandwiches, and later added beer and wine to the mix. It wasn't until 2001 that the real transformation began to take place. Lanny was first to arrive in the Florida Keys and scope out Boondocks. Seeing past the overgrown trees and broken tables he immediately called this father, Larry and long time friend and colleague, John to hop the next flight down and check out what would become their new home. With Lanny's vision, John's restaurant expertise and Larry's backbreaking work ethic, Boondocks Grille and Draft House and Miniature Golf has become one of the most popular destinations on the overseas highway.
