The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, founded in 1854, holds the distinction of being one of the oldest Catholic churches in North Florida, reflecting the faith and dedication of its early community. Overcoming challenges such as the Civil War and the Great Jacksonville Fire of 1901, the current structure, which opened in 1910, stands as a testament to enduring spirituality in downtown Jacksonville.

As a spiritual haven, the Basilica continues to serve as a light of Christ for the community, offering a range of sacraments and faith formation opportunities. Its rich history and commitment to sharing the Gospel make it a revered location for worship and reflection.

Beautiful cathedral basilica! Walkable from the Hyatt downtown. Limited pedestrian traffic for AM daily Mass. So happy to join in the celebration!
