Dr. Mitchell is board-certified in orthopedic surgery, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He provides comprehensive care to patients with orthopedic injuries or conditions. Dr. Mitchell graduated with his medical degree from the Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He did an internship in general surgery and residency training in orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Mitchell received a fellowship in sports medicine at Los Angeles Orthopaedic Institute in Sherman Oaks, California. Dr. Mitchell has a special interest in sports medicine, shoulder surgery and fracture management. His research has been published in medical journals, such as the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He previously served as department of surgery chairman for Leesburg Regional Medical Center and director of the shoulder and sports division for Tri-County Orthopaedic Center in Leesburg, Florida.
