Joshua M. Heiman, M.D., is a fellowship-trained urologist at Baptist Health Urology, specializing in endourology and minimally invasive urologic surgery. He focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of kidney stones, benign prostatic enlargement, prostate cancer, renal masses and other conditions affecting the urinary and reproductive systems. Dr. Heiman has advanced training in holmium laser enucleation of the prostate — a highly effective, minimally invasive procedure for patients with very large prostates — as well as percutaneous nephrolithotomy, a specialized technique used to treat large or complex kidney stones. He also received extensive fellowship training in robotic-assisted urologic surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive procedures for conditions involving the kidneys, prostate and bladder. After earning a master’s degree in biotechnology at Rush University in Chicago, Dr. Heiman earned his medical degree at Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton. He completed a five-year residency in urology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. During his residency, he served as a robotics education curriculum coordinator in the Department of Urology. His post-doctoral training also includes a fellowship in endourology and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. Dr. Heiman has published his research findings in medical journals and presented his work at national and international scientific symposiums. He is a member of the American Urologic Association and the Endourological Society. Through open communication and shared decision-making, Dr. Heiman builds trust with his patients and their family members and works closely with them to develop personalized care plans that align with their values and goals. This patient-centered care approach allows for a more comprehensive, thoughtful and effective treatment experience. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Heiman cherishes spending time with his family and Golden Retriever, Indy. He enjoys being outdoors, playing sports and cheering on the University of Michigan and Chicago sports teams.

Jose Yeguez, M.D., is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon at Baptist Health, specializing in inguinal and abdominal hernia surgery using minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic), open and abdominal wall reconstruction techniques. He is fluent in English and Spanish. After earning his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda in Coro, Venezuela, he completed his residency in general surgery at Universidad Central de Venezuela Hospital General del Oeste in Caracas, Venezuela. He continued his training by completing a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Yeguez is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Hernia Society, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Robotic Surgery and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. In additional to his surgical work, Dr. Yeguez dedicates his time to research. His work, particularly on the treatment of colorectal diseases and advanced laparoscopy, can be found in peer-reviewed publications such as American Journal of Surgery and Contemporary Surgery. As a respected surgeon, Dr. Yeguez excels at providing patients with innovative care. He alleviates his patients’ concerns by taking time to listen to any questions and thoroughly educating them on their treatment plans.

James Ross, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Ross specializes in sports medicine and joint preservation surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Ross is one of the few orthopedic surgeons to have been awarded a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He currently serves as the team physician for Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, and the Florida Panthers. Dr. Ross is a member of the ANCHOR Research Group and the recipient of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA) Trainee Research Award. Dr. Ross is passionate about helping patients regain their quality of life and strives to put himself in their shoes when providing treatment recommendations. He encourages non-operative treatment when possible as a first-line therapy. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Ross enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, boating, dancing and listening to music.
