Avatar Holdings is engaged in real estate operations and primary development of lifestyle communities. In central Florida, Avatar has developed communities in Poinciana, the community of Bellalago and the active-adult community of Solivita. Avatar has also developed communities at Harbor Islands in Hollywood, Fla.; Cory Lake Isles in Tampa, Fla.; and Rio Rico, in southeastern Arizona. In 2002, Avatar entered into a joint venture for development of Ocean Palms, a high rise condominium in Hollywood, Fla. Avatar also engages in a variety of other real estate-related activities, such as the operation of amenities, the sale of commercial and industrial land, the operation of a title insurance agency and the operation of a water and wastewater utility in Rio Rico, Ariz.
