Saint Augustine, FL 32080

Fort Foster State Historic Site, located within Hillsborough River State Park, is a reconstructed fort originally built in 1836 during the Second Seminole War to protect a crucial bridge and serve as a resupply station for soldiers. The site offers living-history demonstrations, where visitors can engage with park staff and re-enactors during special events, such as the Fort Foster Rendezvous and the Candlelight Experience.

In addition to the fort, an interpretive center provides insight into the historical context of the Seminole-U.S. military conflict through over 100 artifacts. The park fosters educational opportunities through its Junior Ranger Program, encouraging younger visitors to explore and appreciate Florida's historical and natural resources.
