Amateur Radio Emergency Service

Amateur Radio Emergency Service is a volunteer radio communications service available for federal, state, county and local governments, as well as nonprofit organizations. It activates during a range of emergency situations that includes power failure, hurricanes, bush fire, tomadoes and earthquakes. The organization also provides communications support during public service events. It offers health and welfare information for victims of natural and manmade disasters. The organization conducts training sessions in emergency communications for its members. In addition, it employs a staff of operators and administrative and other support personnel. Amateur Radio Emergency Service is a service organization of Duval County, Florida amateur radio operators.
