Aldo M. Riesgo, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. He specializes in adult hip and knee reconstruction. Dr. Riesgo earned his medical degree at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases – NYU Langone Medical Center, where he served as executive chief resident during his final year. He then completed his fellowship training in complex hip and knee reconstruction at OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Center in Charlotte, N.C. Dr. Riesgo is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of several other professional associations. He is actively involved in clinical research and has published his findings in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented his work at national and international symposiums. He also serves as a reviewer for several orthopedic journals. Dr. Riesgo is committed to helping patients who have been told their condition is too complex and there is no hope for improvement. He offers patients hope guided by data, skill and experience. He has had success treating complex cases and has refined techniques and methods to offer the best care to future patients. He is a question senior editor for the ABPM&R board and an ABPM&R oral board examiner. Dr. Mena also serves as an editor for the ABA pain medicine boards and is part of the ABA Pain Medicine Examination Committee. As an instructor for the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS, formerly SIS), he is dedicated to teaching safe and effective diagnostic and therapeutic interventional spine procedures to his peers.
