Agape Therapy Institute, Corp, established in 2016 by Susan Bearden, provided a safe, open, and affirming secular counseling space in Orlando, Florida, in response to community needs following the Pulse shooting. Over its seven years of operation, the institute offered over 35,000 therapy sessions, integrating telehealth solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic and training numerous emerging mental health professionals.
In 2023, Bearden made the poignant decision to close the office as she relocates to Pennsylvania in 2024, marking the end of a significant chapter for Agape.
