Dominquez Archaeological
Dominquez Archaeological Research Group (DARG) is a non-profit corporation established in 2003, dedicated to anthropological and archaeological research, preservation, and education in the Upper Colorado River Basin. They strive for professional excellence, inclusivity, and the application of innovative research methods, while promoting diversity and racial justice. DARG collaborates with various partners to conduct archaeological reassessments, record rock art sites, and engage in historic preservation and heritage tourism initiatives.
DARG offers the Partnership of Discovery Program, allowing individuals and families to support real archaeology in western Colorado by adopting an archaeologist involved in ongoing research projects. By making a donation, adopters receive an adoption certificate, a photo and biography of their archaeologist, and updates on DARG projects through their e-newsletter, The Point. This program not only funds ongoing projects but also contributes to the preservation of western Colorado's archaeological resources.
