Washington DC Water Department

DC Water and Sewer Authority is a multi-jurisdictional regional utility that provides retail water and wastewater services. It provides services to more than 500,000 residential, commercial and governmental customers in the District of Columbia. It also collects and treats wastewater for more than 1.6 million customers in Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland and Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia. The department operates more than 1,300 miles of pipes and various pumping stations, reservoirs and elevated water storage tanks. It also operates more than 36,000 valves and nearly 8,700 hydrants. Its project includes customer service improvements, environmental initiatives and regulatory compliance, financial performance, and operations and administration accomplishments. Established in 1938, DC Water and Sewer Authority has more than 1,200 employees and is located in Washington, D.C.
