Book lovers of all ages come together by the tens of thousands to celebrate reading and meet their favorite authors at the annual Library of Congress National Book Festival, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The event is free and open to the public. Nationally known authors, illustrators and poets make presentations on stages dedicated to children and teens, fiction, history, biography, poetry, science and more. Many fascinating thematic programs and panel discussions are offered throughout the festival. Readers can also meet their favorite authors during book signings. Thousands more book lovers watch the festival’s Main Stage streamed live online.
