rban Ed, Inc, is a community development organization whose mission is to provide technology education, information and skill development to unemployed and underemployed youth and young adults. Our primary vehicle in carrying out our mission is to use technology in creative ways to ( 1 ) help persons in need gain marketable workplace skills in the information technology field and ( 2 ) help the children of these families who are not scoring at proficient in school gain academic enrichments in the areas of math, English, art and computer science. Urban Ed gives thanks to our volunteer strategic planning team provided to us by Greater DC Cares and led by Booz Allen Hamilton consultants that helped us shape our three-year strategic plan for 2005-2008. Time For Change (TFC) is a community-based agency in Washington, DC, dedicated to eradicating crime and homelessness through vocational rehabilitation and clinical employment services. They collaborate with individuals who have experienced setbacks in their educational or vocational careers, providing therapeutic interventions and support to help them regain motivation and achieve success in meaningful work. TFC's mission is to re-establish productive citizens, including reformed criminal offenders and those affected by trauma, by offering client-centered services and goal-driven interventions that ultimately lead to sustainable employment. Established in 2016, TFC aims to decrease the high rate of incarceration in the Washington DC area, which currently sees 10,000 individuals per year entering the system, with 60,000 cycling in and out. Recognizing that many individuals become homeless due to their criminal records, physical or mental health challenges, or recurring problematic behaviors, TFC provides therapy and career exploration to break the cycle of criminality and trauma. They focus on intervening early in the lives of at-risk young adults and adults vulnerable to crime and homelessness, but their services are not limited to any age group. Through vocational rehabilitation and client-centered services, TFC strives to empower individuals, promote change, and ultimately help them secure employment careers.Generated from the website
