Founded in 1970, Regional Addiction Prevention, also known as RAP, is a nonprofit organization that offers residential substance abuse treatment programs in the District of Columbia. The organization serves formerly incarcerated individuals, single parents and substance abusers living with AIDS. Regional Addiction Prevention operates residential treatment centers in Maryland and the District of Columbia. It also operates a 35-bed residential substance abuse treatment center for pregnant and postpartum women and their children living in public housing. Regional Addiction Prevention provides nutritional counseling and emergency housing services. In addition, it operates the Chancellor Williams Learning Center and The Calvin Rolark Center.
