The Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, also known as MHCDO, is a nonprofit community-based organization that has undertaken community development activities in the Ward 7 area of Washington, D.C., since 1979. MHCDO has developed on its own 60-unit supportive housing facility, a 469-unit garden-style apartment complex, 220,000 square feet of retail/office space, 20,000 square feet of warehouse/industrial space and more than 150 homes sold to low and moderate income buyers. The National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium, located in Washington, D.C., is a professional society of the state and territory agency heads responsible for career technical education. Founded in 1920, NASDCTEc has a membership of more than 200 senior state staff and individuals that work to ensure quality career technical education at the secondary, postsecondary and adult levels.
