NewTower Trust Company, based in Bethesda, Maryland, is a limited purpose, non-depository trust company chartered and supervised by the State of Maryland. NewTower provides trustee, investment management, and independent fiduciary services to pension plans and their advisors through its oversight and management of commingled funds. NewTower began operations in June 2005 with a management team that successfully administered the Multi-Employer Property Trust ( MEPT - http: //www.mept.com ) for more than 14 years with an ongoing mission to serve this client. Founded in 1982, MEPT is an open-end commingled real estate equity fund with currently over $7.25 billion in assets. NewTower's capability, proven through the MEPT relationship, allows the Company to provide comprehensive trust services to other clients. Since inception, NewTower has continued to add experienced professionals in order to fulfill its mission. Most recently, NewTower expanded the team through the addition of NewTower Valuation Services LLC ( NVS ). The staff of NVS had been the outsourced provider of valuation services to NewTower and its predecessor trustee for several years.
