The National Association of Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (NATHPO) is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to supporting and promoting Tribal historic preservation programs across the United States. NATHPO provides guidance on national historic preservation legislation, advocates for Tribal sovereignty, and develops partnerships to enhance governmental activities related to preservation and funding issues.

With over 200 recognized Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (THPOs) representing sovereign governments across 30 states, NATHPO empowers these leaders to protect culturally significant places that foster Native identity and resilience. The organization also offers grant opportunities, workshops, and resources to assist in the preservation of Native heritage and address issues such as derogatory place names on public lands.
