The National Museum of Women in the Arts, located in Washington, D.C., is a museum dedicated exclusively to recognizing the contributions of women artists. It was incorporated in 1981 as a private and nonprofit museum. It organizes and designs public programs and tours for audiences of all ages. Its programs provide information on women artists, composers, writers, musicians, actors, filmmakers, dancers and those working in other creative disciplines.
