The U.S.'s National Christmas Tree is a live tree in the northeast quadrant of The Ellipse, near the White House and within sight of the Washington Monument. During the Christmas season, it is lit and surrounded by smaller trees representing U.S. states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. It can be visited year-round.
