The Alliance for Responsible HFC Policy, established in 1980, serves as a coordinating body for businesses reliant on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) to engage in the development of policies addressing stratospheric ozone depletion. With approximately 50 members, including manufacturers, distributors, and contractors, the Alliance advocates for responsible and effective ozone protection and climate change policies at both international and domestic levels. By promoting a managed transition away from HCFCs and HFCs, the Alliance aims to facilitate the adoption of alternative substances while meeting the growing demand for safe and efficient products in refrigeration, heat pumps, and medical devices. The organization underscores the significant economic contribution of the U.S. fluorocarbon industry, which generates over $158 billion annually and employs more than 700,000 individuals.
