Embassy of Japan in the United States conducts various summits and press conferences on financial markets, world economy and reform principles. It maintains a consular office that handles passport and visa applications, certifications, family registrations and nationality-related enquiries. In addition, the embassy operates a Japan Information and Culture Center that entertains inquiries on Japanese culture, archival resources and local events. The center also organizes various cultural events, exhibitions and educational programs. It offers the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program that provides job placements to candidates in Japan.

We were outside the embassy last Friday sept 1st protesting the slaughtering of dolphins that takes place each year in Taiji Japan. It didn't seem like the people there even cared about our concern.
