Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a prestigious sisterhood founded in 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. With over 200,000 predominantly Black college-educated women, the sorority boasts a network of 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters across the United States, Canada, England, Japan, Germany, and more. Committed to empowering and inspiring its members, Delta Sigma Theta focuses on five key programmatic thrusts, including economic development, physical and mental health, educational development, political awareness and involvement, and international awareness and involvement.

Athens Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is dedicated to serving the community through impactful programs and scholarships. Led by Chapter President Shatana Williams, the chapter warmly welcomes Deltas seeking a chapter home to participate in meetings, community projects, and sisterhood events. As an integral part of the national organization, Athens Alumnae Chapter aligns its programming efforts with the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, aiming to serve, empower, and inspire.
