The DC Alley Museum, established in 2015, showcases a vibrant collection of public art murals created by local artists with ties to the Shaw neighborhood and Blagden Alley. This outdoor gallery features stunning artworks painted directly on the garage doors of several buildings, made possible through grants from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and support from community residents.
The museum was formally inaugurated with a community event celebrating the commissioning and installation of five new artworks. Through strong collaboration between artists and local residents, the DC Alley Museum aims to enhance public awareness of the local artistic community and foster future collaborations for expanding public art in the area.
